Privacy Policy

PounceTERM is local-first. It runs entirely on your Mac. No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no PounceApps server your data passes through.

What we collect

Nothing. PounceApps does not operate any server that receives your data. We do not collect personal information, usage analytics, crash telemetry, or a device identifier. There is no sign-in.

Your hosts, keys & sessions

SSH hosts, identities, passwords, snippets, and known host keys are stored in an encrypted vault on your Mac (AES-256-GCM, key in your macOS Keychain). Your ssh-agent and key files are used in place — never copied or uploaded. Terminal sessions run between your Mac and hosts you choose; nothing about them is sent to us.

Claude Code & AI providers

PounceTERM launches Claude Code as a local process under your Claude login; conversations are handled under Anthropic's terms and privacy policy. Claude profiles are folders on your Mac — PounceTERM never touches or transmits their credentials. If you configure a direct AI provider for the sidebar chat, your prompts and terminal context go directly to the provider you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, a gateway, or a fully local Ollama model) and are handled under that provider's policy. PounceApps does not proxy, log, or store these requests.

1Password sync

Settings sync is optional and uses your 1Password account via the official CLI. What you push (AI keys, theme, fonts) is encrypted and stored by 1Password under their policies; PounceApps never sees it.

The built-in MCP server

PounceTERM's Model Context Protocol server listens on your local machine (localhost) so agents you run locally can drive the app; for SSH sessions an optional reverse tunnel binds the remote host's localhost. It is not exposed to the internet by PounceTERM, and a bearer token can be required on shared hosts.

Children

PounceTERM is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.
